Thread regarding Symantec Corp. layoffs

This was the day last year ! 8th Aug 2019

All hell broke loose when it was announced by that id–t CEO that Broadcom was acquiring Symantec. From that day on to this moment- it’s only been down hill for a company that once stood out and was an awesome place to work.
After announcing the acquisition that id–tic and corrupt CEO Collected his millions , accommodated another mo–n as CEO of RemainCo , then disappeared into thin air never to be seen or heard of again .
RIP Symantec ... what was once a shining star is shredded to pieces by BRCM

welcome to the club. it's a slash and burn strategy at first. minimal tweaks in year 1 while ur in shell-shock trying to deal with the draconian processes and regime. year 2 bigger hits come as you start struggling with hitting targets. year 3 look out.

do whatever you can to GTFO. maximize ANYTHING of value you can get out of the place. spend quality time building your network. now. always be ready for a hit. and watch your back because as time passes you can't trust your co-workers after time...

Indeed hard to believe Hock & Charlie sliced through Symantec as hard as they did. Few of us left are waiting for redundancy to get the hell out of this place...

Happy Anniversary. Would you like some cake?

Seriously, join the club. My best advice...work as little as you can get away with, copy as much stuff as you can that is of use for your next job, think of some competitors you can move to, start thinking how you can become a freelance consultant on the side so when the sheet hits the fan you're ready...

i guarantee you it will become very, very ugly. i'm former CA and the rumors are additional headcount reductions from what they've already done. the lists have already been created and hr/legal are likely on standby to support any actions later in year.

good luck.
