Very eye opening about how this permalancer business model was set up

Redstone stole my pension. I, and many others, would have been pretty well off right now if he hadn't done away with it 12+ years ago.
Not saying Redstone was a great guy, but I have issues whenever someone I've never heard of waits until a huge figure dies to then c-ap on him (and Vanity Fair is first in line to publish). Sumner Redstone didn't invent the idea of using permalancers and not unique to Viacom. Next we just need an ex intern to write about how Sumner Redstone invented the concept of using unpaid interns to do work or paying minimum wage to folks in costumes (oh no, that's Disney). In his prime, his vision kept the place going (and lots of permalancers employed). Permalancers always had the option of going someplace else, if the grass was really greener. Many don't because Hollywood is a s-show all around, and lots of good creative folks are drawn to it like moths to a flame.
Very frustrating read. Redstone really pioneered the model for paying workers below market wages not only behind the scenes, but in front of it. Permalancers have been getting shafted at Viacom since it’s inception. Assistants have been hired for the last few years as freelancers despite working for entrenched senior execs (VPs and above). Just gross abuse of one example.
Eye opening info also about Sweet 16. Nina Diaz has been taking credit for its creation for years. Figures the origins would start from a PA who never got the ‘acclaim’. What b—s—. That’s the way all these execs roll. Anthony Beltempo also came up with Jersey Shore when he was a junior freelancer. Doubt he’s making the millions he’s owed on what became a juggernaut.
