Can anybody please explain to me why are we having layoffs when sales are through the roof (at least in my store?) I haven't been here for a long time, but if this is how Kroger treats its employees when the results are this good, I don't think I'll stay here long enough to find out how it treats employees when the going gets tough.

My son has worked for Kroger’s part time for seven years. This is the first time in those 7 years that he is working 1 day. He works at night 6-10. What’s going on here ?
Rodney is still trying to get to the billion dollars in savings he promised the investors. He has slashed hours in all the stores. Doesn't care if it affects customers. As long as it gets him another 21% raise.
I was an executive and retired a few years ago... the company is not the company that it once was they could care less about you... i know first hand. I retired when i got the inside look at how the company was going to get rid of “outdated” high paid tenured workers at all levels. I couldnt be a part of it so i retired. My stepson just got a job at target in their stores. 40 hours a week and $15 an hour with a pay raise at 6 months. It would take you 10 years to get that at Kroger. If you are a new employee in the stores, do yourself a favor and find something else.
Are you talking about layoffs in Kroger Technology, or the stores?
