Corporate employees are overworked and on hiring limitations for the sake of the economic situation. Yet Sysco can add 3 new executives $$$$$$$ post COVID after laying off 33% of the company. Sure! keep layering executives, VPs and directors that cant get anything done but argue and defer initiatives deadlines year over year and not convey the communications and vision to their teams. What we need is doers and leaders who lead by doing and making a difference in current processes. #SyscoTelephoneGame

More layoffs occur at this company than are ever reported (they always stay just below the reporting threshold). I was in the last 2017 group (4 groups preceded me that year) and six more groups in the five years preceding that. Look at tenure; employees fall into two categories: those employed over 20 or more years and those under 5 years. A few make it to ten years but the distribution of tenure is bonkers off kilter.
Morale has never been lower, and it’s not the pandemic causing it. It seems our new “Leader” would have destroyed this company regardless of the pandemic. It’s just a convenient excuse that he can use. If he is planning to reduce the workforce even further, that is absolutely inexcusable when there is hope for life getting back to normal in the near future.
I agree on the move on comment, eventually they will be outclassed by the competition, it is really dysfunctional place to work at. I was warned about it but the pay was good. Everything I was told about the company turned out to be true. The interest of some and their connections get them new promotions. Some get promoted due to their talent, but locally connections get you places. What I never got was how corporate kept messing up with Opcos that we’re making good money, it is like they only wanted them to be successful on their own terms not by the individuality and hard work of the local companies. Perception with customer still negative and I Don’t think it will change.
I have never heard one positive thing about this company! The turn over is unbelievable! Blame it on the stock holders! They're a bunch of bozo's! KARMA'S here.....LOOK OUT. If your reading this and still work for this dysfunctional organization do yourself a favour. MOVE ON
I was laid off in july and i was devastated at the time. Looking back though, im so grateful to be out of sysco. Definitely seems like its changed for the worst since kevin joined, and my former colleagues that are still there are all miserable.
Kevin has destroyed morale etc. Thanks guy.
