Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Underpaying staff

Nothing mentioned about staff who deliver an excellent service, who provide the stability of systems, who carry out the projects which generate the revenue. Not one word of appreciation or thanks in the whole transcript.
Not one word on underpaying staff and how he is going to transform that journey for the staff to reward them fairly.

I had to copy this into a new thread because the author is spot on. We deserve much more than we get, and even if we don’t deserve anything, at least they can say thank you.

I retired even after they offered me a raise and a bonus. I am a software engineer and DXC would not even get me a decent laptop. They only offered me a raise and bonus after I announced my retirement DXC lied to me for 3 years about my coming raises and bonus. If you still work for DXC, leave.

Do you mean the execs? The ones who mainly pen pushing, meetings about meetings, creators of road blocks, and multiple town halls, emails forwarders?

Surely they deserve big rises and stocks on top of their existing inflated salaries.

The people on the ground they only produce the goods, keep the service going, and deliver surely they dont deserve anything. we can keep fobbing them off by putting out new initiatives like thank yous, and reward schemes to pat them on the back to fool them. We can keep pushing the pay raises back for them.

Or a proper strategy would be that the execs dont get anything, our people come first, will be rewarded first as without them the company wont function, they are the day to day bloodline of this company, they are important, they are deserving. We will be open and honest with them, we will give them a Christmas bonus, and announce the pay rise in January.

That's what a decent leader would do, lead by example.

Stop all the bull sh-t and give us raises now! The executive team is getting pay increases, bonus, stock options, but there is no money for the rank and file.

They do listen, they just don't care enough to act on it.

You're sadly mistaken if you think people like big Mike care about the people at the bottom, they're just numbers to them - whether you like it or not.

Prediction - Mike et al will keep their bonuses coming in for a couple of years and then be off to the next cash cow. In the meantime, they "can't afford" pay rises and you all stagnate. Round after round of WFR so they can make it look like they're making a profit and milk the bonuses.

Shame they dont listen..

Why are the execs on so much and getting everything. If you listen to the questions on staff Mike gets angry and a bit abusive.

His happy and calm answering business questions.

He didn't even know that most of the middle management are untrained and pretty useless building their little empires and towers. And if it doesn't fit their little tower tick box then they want to offload it asap.

Doesn't matter if it impacts the customers as long as it's not relevant to his empire he doesn't want it.
Some the customers dont see 1 Dxc they see managers with empires stopping staff providing a good service which may cross a couple of empires and grey areas.

Blinkered middle management if a staff is multi skilled he doesn't necessarily have to fit in your tower, he can provide a variety of skills and services. He can be a engineer or project engineer or build engineer. He can be a project lead, coordinator, or PM. Some staff can do everything some staff prefer just 1 discipline.

So in short the middle tier needs to be trimmed and trained up to stop ticking boxes and be more people focused.

As for the thing about going into the office to pick up you old chair etc bit of a joke. Most decent companies allow staff to order a new chair which is delivered to the home. Not a brilliant idea to bring used stuff into your home in a pandemic. No mention of any thing else eg broadband reimbursement etc.

In short Mike you've got to give us something quick, if you dont want to give us a big rise you should give shares that way the staff are part of the company and will be positive about its future, one of your key objectives which you impressed on firmly.

I'm sure that's going to be the main questions raised on the call as to what's happening with pay raises as the company is turning around.

After so many years of underpay his going to have to pay, otherwise the turnaround will quickly grind to a halt.

Everyone ask the question on the call about pay and Christmas bonus.

If the board are handing out bonuses for success to themselves then we have achieved the success that Salvino said would yield improvements on staff salaries.

He was quite clear on that previously in his townhalls, when the company succeeds there would be money for everyone.

Conversely, if he tells us that success hasn't come yet, then those on exec bonuses too should be not getting anything.

Who is brave enough to ask him that directly on the call this week?

Come the hour, come the hero?

How can it be my fault. If the execs can get paid millions the people on the ground who do the work should a fair rise.

Nothing about fault if Mike S has a family and so do we.

Words will be said at the town hall that's a given, but that doesn't compensate the hard work and effort.

If the execs are deserving of millions the people on the ground who produce the goods deserve a fair raise after years of bieng shafted.

And if the guys on the ground aren't deserving then the execs should take big cuts, even then they will be on big bucks.
