Can Nielsen lay off furloughed people by simply telling them their furlough is now indefinite and avoid paying them any severance in that way? I know a few companies have done this to their employees and I'm starting to worry that's the direction we're also headed in.

Great question. I guess they can do anything they want. Especially in the state of Florida ...workers have no rights.
