Thread regarding Giant Eagle layoffs

OMG! Giant Eagle stopped the new bonus program for employees after the first payout

What is going on with Giant Eagle? They finally give its employees a chance to make some money and they stop the program after the first payout. What is wrong? Is it true the bonus program paid out more money then the company was willing to pay out. Now the employees are only getting $1 more an hour instead of a bonus based on sales.

Too bad. With the crazy holiday sales coming and the craziness of the pandemic starting up again it would be nice for the employees to get a bonus based on the sales.

Is it possible the program was rigged from the start? Did Giant Eagle projected sales to be so high they knew the stores would not reach the number projected. That way Giant Eagle wouldn't have to pay out a large amount. Don't forget Giant Eagle also decided not to apply for the COVID-19 Hazard pay grant the State of Pennsylvania offered. Makes sense to me

Dude, do the math on this before you go all ape sh;t and post indignantly on the internet. The previous “bonus” program was a major BUST and beyond unacceptable at best! Seriously, I know people working 40 hours a week and got $120 after taxes! The $1.00 more an hour would have gotten them over $500, nearly 5 times more than the joke of a “bonus” program.

You need je$us hunny and get your high school education!!
