If they want to reduce OPEX and minimize the impact that the reduction in force will have on their business operations than they should focus their efforts towards the Account Manager and Product Sales Specialist community, (especially the later). Other than scheduling a webex meeting, ordering food, delegating work, pontificating, bloviating and plagarizing everyone else's work, I've never witnessed ANY value stream whatsoever coming from this group of individuals.

Cisco is one horrible place to work. Good luck to those moving on. I was there - would not dream of going back .

Yep, one on one with the manager, then mail. After hard six years... Sad. Time to move on.

2100 took the CEP.. that will affect the balance of the 7000 number..
They have to cut $1B from operating expenses/salaries..

When you hired on at Cisco, you signed at “at will” employment agreement. The only thing any company owes you is pay for the time you worked. Quit whining, this happens every day, at every company in the world. Take your package, move on, and don’t look back. There should be no emotion involved here. This is strictly a financial relationship. Good luck.

Hello Cisco has at LEAST 1 lay-off a year this is just larger than normal. Remember Chuck, Geri and Maria need their $25M yearly income plus $100m to be PC.
Stick bug backs and lay-off what a culture rich get richer screw the workers.

Has anything happened yet? I have seen mixed comments. Some say that there have been but some haven't.

HR has nothing to do with layoffs. But ER does. They work under Legal and it is their job to dispose of you quickly and quietly.

Nothing here so far. Our department (in SP mobility TAC) seems to have almost completely escaped the layoffs. What roles were hit the hardest?

I had a 9 AM call this morning with manager... he read a script and told me that I will get an email from the HR team about next steps.
It was a quick 12 minutes call..

My manager and their manager. No HR in my call.

Was your manager on the call just an arbitrary HR person?

Yupp, fired this AM. Call then email. Company is a joke. Had a very high IPF, but it is what it is. On to greener pastures.
