To echo previous posts, as long as you are not a support function (HR, Finance, Legal, IT, etc.), you can chill out because it’s highly likely you’re coming over. If you’re a support function, just wait for the severance. Don’t do anything crazy like quit in frustration before you get your payout.

Those 700 people are the people who already re applied for their jobs and got left standing. That was higher paid people. The lower level employees will get cut December 14 and it will be a lot of people.

Chevron employee here. FYI this is how all our layoffs/transformations/whatever they call them are. They happen about every 5 years. They told us there would be cuts December of 2019 so we had plenty of notice.

Per the warn notice 700 people in Houston with Chevron will be getting the axe. Best of luck! Why is there even still a Noble site. Everyone left is now with Chevron, but for how long is the real question?

You guys need to chill out, all indications are that if you are in DJ basin, eagle Ford or Isreal your jobs are safe. The Permian folks are most at risk plus Houston office folks in IT, HR and Finance. I would say 70% of workforce [worker bee] will keep their jobs.

Yes, CXO will fire 98% of NBL and they should. What happened with NBL since Charles left....DS and his puppets destroyed it.Time for those terrible young managers, ex BP who were promoted, and directors to go. Good luck finding jobs as kissing a*..will not work...VPs will do fine as they collected a lot of money for putting company under the water.

Houston? What say you? Have you started getting laid off already?

CVX did not buy NBL for the people, they wanted the assets. NBL employees are like the squatters that have to be kicked out after buying a foreclosed home at auction.

They did? I thought no changes were taking place until the new org structure and employee reviews happened?

@azf,

Chevron will very professionally lay you off soon.

Probably the reason you are still around is due to Houston management ineptitude.

Enjoy your severance

I look forward to working for chevron. Every communication has been clear, concise and professional. It’s a breathe of fresh air compared to the NBL lack of transparency and leadership. I don’t mind the fact that the Houston do nothing culture will need to change.

Why do I suddenly feel like we're a bunch of sitting ducks?
