Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

When will these layoffs happen?

I hate knowing layoffs are coming and having no idea when it might happen.

If you work in the Warsaw Indiana facility.. I would be getting my resume done.. the plan is to totally phase out production and R&D. There will be several layoffs / RIFS in Warsaw.

You will be called into a meeting, and ambushed by your boss and HR on your day of reckoning. Cold and impersonal.
Don’t worry and don’t waste your talent- find another company that will appreciate your value. I am never going back to MDT- I don’t want to waste more of my talent so leadership can dismantle my work because it doesn’t support their individual agenda to empire build and ladder climb.

Geoff will give us an update on Oct 14

Investor Day, to be held virtually on October 14, 2020

But i don't think they'll be anything new. They are posting new jobs, some of these are people interviewing for existing jobs, but don't seen new broad lay-offs coming.

They are outsourcing most jobs to India and the Philippines. They already have them staffing most of the inbound and outbound calls. It cost Medtronic less to hire them instead of US workers. That's how they are saving money.

All the layoffs are announced — plant closures over the next 3 years and the people that were let go in September (or switched to contract in IT). You think there are more coming?
