Are the talent profiles being edited by management or HR to meet what they want for a talent pool? Could talent profiles be embellished in any way a person cared to embellish? Who’s to verify? This process isn’t the same as an interview process....

How can NBL managers possibly play favorites??? I haven’t even met mine in person, nor has the rest of our team. And we don’t even have an org chart to highlight buzzwords to. This whole process is theatre. And I’m not doing a goddamn thing until I have just the tiny semblance of direction.
So sad but @qnu+ 17mntQ5k has it right . Same for the other 2 postees after him/her, who Jane correctly assessed the situation. Buck up, s— up or goodbye
They keep saying selections will be made, using the same process Noble has always used. So that means headcount based on a percentage, and the ones that didn’t get along with their boss, no matter if you were the top performer, see-ya. Guess we can be glad that this is the last of “The Noble Way”
And we KNOW Noble managers play favorites, don’t we?
And how will Chevron know if a manager is playing favorites? There is no time to verify anything. This whole process is a clusterf–k.
At Chevron, the guidance is to put your best foot forward, use as many buzzy action words as you can, and highlight the skills and experience that put you in competition for a slot in the new org. That leads to a lot of embellishment, but no one will ever edit what you submit. Management hates it when people don’t put any effort into their documentation and if your documentation is total garbage (it happens, even at the VP level), it will put you at a disadvantage even if you are an incumbent (They view it as an indication of incompetence since you aren’t even bothering to follow basic directions). The time to validate what is on the documentation is limited, so they will usually rope in the current manager for that area. I’m not sure how that works in an acquisition, but I’d hope a Chevron person is involved to make sure managers at Nobles aren’t blindly playing favorites. Chevron is looking for specific skills and behaviors to support the future of the company. Good luck!
I love it!
I embellished the hell out of mine. With the org chaos, not one is left to dispute or confirm. Same on my annual review. Leveraging the incompetence for my own good.
Oh, and I’m not showing up for the next 2 weeks, and I’m going on a vacation without using time. No one will notice and no one cares.
