Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Anyone else understaffed even though customer counts and sales are not slowing down?

This is ridiculous. I think our SM forgot that it's the busiest we've ever been.

My store can’t keep people. We hire one and two quit. It has been like this for months now. Our turnover is through the roof, sales are still high and the associates get more and more demoralized every day. It’s awful and I’ve worked for this company for years. And we’re not just losing part time cashiers. Some of the people quitting are our most seasoned people. They’ve just had it. No one wants to work for Lowe’s anymore. I don’t either. Every time a manager threatens to write me up or talks about firing people I laugh in their face. You want my job? Go ahead and fire me. Nothing would make me happier. At least I could drawn unemployment for the first time in my life. Sounds like a vacation to me.

We are so short staffed and keep being given more tasks to do every day to sign off on. So many associates quitting. Its out of control. Ive never heard so many associates talking about mental health. This is a very bad road we are on.

Out store is so understaffed and SM goes out of his way to put people on final notice for incredibly trivial things and then fires them. ASM’s& cashiers we need them!,, And store can’t get people to apply so existing associates have to do SO many jobs, esp for closing shifts where we are especially short handed. I have to walk from end of store to restroom and no longer use main aisles or I’ll get hammered by customers looking for help in the short departments. I didn’t use to mind, but now it’s share the profits with me if I have to do my 3 departments and loads of others.

What our SM does to piss off employees to get them to leave makes no sense.

I wonder if he is comp’d not just on Store Revenue but Profit Margins. Record sales BUT Operating Costs down because fewer Associates that helped drive that revenue means higher Profit Margins.

Remember what Lord marvin says back to the basics . I help 1 customer at a time . The other 30 people waiting just have to wait

All Lowe’s mgmt cares about is revenue and sales, if it’s on the back of Associates frying themselves working multiple departments they don’t give a darn. They will never support Associates-get out and find a job where they care about you. The ridiculous schedules ruins your life.

Absolutely understaffed at my store, never had so many open positions. Staffing person blames it on unemployment bonuses people got, but other Lowe’s in my area don’t have as many opens. In my store it’s the SM and the horrible culture he creates, associates leave and now we have a rep. And forget about any referrals from existing employees, no one want their friends family to work in this nightmare store. Plus SM has gone on a needless firing rampage.
