Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Is Citrix in trouble?

You would think a company like Citrix would be having exponential growth in times of Covid. How is Citrix doing layoffs and cutting costs? I also noticed that a lot of people are leaving Citrix. Aren't the reps blowing their quota out of the water? If Citrix can't be successful in times like this than they have an issue. No big Citrix Synergy event this year. Every company did a big virtual event but Citrix. What is going on?

Goals of Mark Templeton: Innovation, Acquisions, Growth.
That was the good old days.
After Corona the expenses will increase and the net margin will decline.
That means more cost savings = less employees.

Innovation has been absent for over a decade. Internally, they cite Okta, Slack, MS Teams as competition. Hello! All you got is virtual apps and desktops. Try that for understanding one's differentiation, competitive sphere, and opportunity. And the majority of desktops are on prem - they can't get customers to go to the cloud.

Networking is a train wreck - ADC only sells because it's a gateway to CVAD. SD-WAN? Game over. How much are they selling each year compared to the Fortinets, VMWs? No one wants to risk their jobs and network on a vendor who isn't a networking player who may bail from the business any day.

So what you're left with is an exec suite who is simply dumb, fat, and happy with status quo hence no innovation and indifference towards the talent exodus. They just find more cheap freshers from Florida to fill seats and say yes. Rinse and repeat every 18-24 months.

I rose to new roles within Citrix but my pay barely improved... to the point that my outside-hire teammates were making double. After a year and a half in one role I became one of the top performers in my dept and I still couldn’t get a level bump. 1:1s with the AVP about career path changed nothing. I felt I had no choice but to leave Citrix. I asked the new employer for the same compensation those outside-hires teammates were making and they gave it to me without batting an eyelid.

Seems a lot of former Citrites have the same story as me. This is how you lose good talent.

Completely agree. There is no innovation at Citrix. It is the same old technology just given another name. All Citrix employees are miserable. Citrix never gets awards for being a great place to work. People get burned out and tired of treated like trash. Many companies are getting awards for how they have been treating their employees during Covid. Not Citrix. They work everyone to death and treat them like c-ap. Leave Citrix it will be the best thing you ever did!

Same old technology with rebranding to pretend they’re doing something new. Management is horrible and everyone is running from Citrix to anywhere else where they can be treated as real human beings.
