Why am I reading about this on other boards and not this one? What’s the word friends?

COP announcements today indicated that the new Permian BU will essentially be Concho with some COP employees. GC&R BU will be COP and survivors of Permian DB. Big layoffs in Houston coming ... and yes ... take PowerPoint classes ....
I don't know where any of you COP folks are getting your information, but Concho is a solid company and takes care of its people. We're not just a bunch of id–ts over here, or COP wouldn't have bought COG. Jack Harper will be over the Permian and Tim Leach over the Lower 48, so I'm not worried about keeping my job.
COP will let over half of the Concho lease operators Go and replace them with contract pumpers. So they won’t have to pay any benefits. Concho offers free insurance to its employees. Plus 40 dollars a day per deium to their lease operators.
Concho sounds a whole lot like COP, except their execs just enrich themselves yearly before anything is sold. Good luck over there, because if these comments are any indication of the culture of Concho, then COP is going to be Concho cubed.
Yeah Leach will sell, and take a year or two off and if/when oil is back start concho number 3 or 4 whatever number he’s on.
Sad turn of events for us.
The only good it will do is give Management a real big PayDay. Then they can come back in a year or row & start over. history repeats itself
Most people are so brainwashed by Concho they are too scared to talk.
Never trust a aggie
Most Concho staff will be axed. Conocophillips will use the good ones to upgrade their own and the rest will be released into the wild.
The future doesn’t seem bright, kinda like their office staff.
Doesn’t matter. The Permian basin is dead in the near future.
This is a big waste of Conoco shareholder dollars.
If the acquisition happens, and it probably will, I'm not so sure it will bring us any good.
