Thread regarding Amazon.com layoffs

How is this possible?

Amazon is the second best employer in the world according to Forbes. Now, I understand that there are privileged employees at HQ who might call this a good place to work, but they are a minority! How can they call Amazon even a good employer, not to mention the best, when it treats the rest of us as robots it milks until we break? When it cut everything it could cut from us to give us a $15/hour and then positioned itself as some kind of a hero?
If this wasn’t so infuriating, it would be funny.

Many returned back from furlough to department stores. All jobs changed and and many are now non selling, no commission, no control of schedule; instead doing everything from picking, packing and buy in line, pick up in store. Essentially the same as working in a Fullfillment wharehouse. For some associates, Amazon pays better and more job security. Brick and Mortar stores are hurting, and Amazon Fullfillment centers seem more secure, especially since they are currently doing the same at their current retail employer.

I’m proud of Amazon! It’s the best company ever! No place is perfect but they do so much to help associates. They care about us. Sorry your situation isn’t good.

I am from another employer who has won many awards as well. Many of the things that made them win are all fake. I would say just don't pay attention to it, most of those is just a product that these companies buy for their ego
