Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Let compassion win!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although greed may be important for economic progress, it is fair to say that lust for possessions may contribute to a society’s decline. Unchecked greed can destroy the soul of humanity like a great cancer, metastasizing throughout society. Our tendency towards conspicuous consumption has already inflicted severe damage to the environment. The victory of greed over compassion may ultimately cause our civilization's downfall. Please be a good person and don't drive planes into the ground anymore. I am sick of your SICKNESS OF GREED STOP IT!

Please do not relate Walmart to Boeing in any way, Walmart has only helped people and does not deserve to be an associate type to Boeing.

@3zrz+17yxbYB6 I agree with you 100%.
However it can be taken too far.

Let's take your average union employee. They get a good job at Boeing making way more than they would with their education somewhere else. They think it will last forever having not looked at history to see that aviation has always been a boom or bust industry. They go out and buy "nice things". Then when the "bust" happens they get their 4x4 and jet skis repo'd and then cry about how Boeing did not take care of them and how horrible the company is.

You can have "nice things" as long as you can do it while planning for a rainy day.

I disagree. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting nice things. In fact it is greed that drives human ingenuity and some of the greatest inventions we are accustomed to.
Without greed you dont have things like the assembly line, life saving medications, or competition between companies which drive new ideas or methods.
By all means, be greedy, chase greatness to better yourself, this doesn't mean you cannot be compassionate to your fellow man.

@OP+17yxbYB6

you stated "don't drive planes into the ground"

Where do you work, Ford, Chevrolet?
Airplanes are FLOWN either in the air or in some cases, to the ground.

Boeing lost it's way in 1997 when the beginning of the end started. Douglas leadership infected boeing culture like a china virus. They failed, boeing bought, jack Wesch ran GE into the ground then boeing brought their failed leaders to Boeing to destroy a once juggernaut of quality and engineering prowess and low and behold it took only 20 years to destroy a 100 year reputation of greatness. GREED is what our so called leadership now represents. No longer does Boeing care about quality, only share holders, not customers, only profits. It OVER. Do the math. Everyone said Douglas could never fail and they were right to extent of taking over boeing and taking it down also. Please look at the big picture, guys like me with 25 plus years see what is coming and every single one of us is out. Is it too late? Yep. Good luck and I'm sorry you didnt listen

Stop using this site as your mental health therapist. Go see a real therapist who will not only listen to you but give you constructive feedback on your thought process. Or is that why you don't see one and you come here instead? Me, I'm here for basic layoff info.
