Thread regarding PNC layoffs

Careful Now

I think PNC folks in their branches should worry. BBVA has a heavy fan base in their markets. They employ locally. PNC, usually, pays more, so their branch staff are more expensive.

I pray no one loses his/her job, unless it's God's will. Which means he has something better planned for you. Stay encouraged!

PNC and BBVA are not merging, PNC is acquiring, a.k.a., writing a check for BBVA. Therefore, if there is overlap in the branches, BBVA employees need to worry. PNC will be loyal to their own, plus as a PNC employee they are already trained and acclimated to the PNC culture where as a BBVA employee would not be. This is not a bank merger, this is a bank acquisition, That’s not to say all BBVA employees will be out of a job, but they will definitely be layed off ahead of a PNC employee, thankfully there will be severance pay depending on the employees time with BBVA, as is typical in these type of situations.
