If the market makes a turn soon, do you think there will be Sherwin-Williams Layoffs 2021? Any news or rumors?

SW and Lowe’s just realized they are going after the same commercial customers. While PPG and Home Depot are partnering up we are fighting ourselves and going to have a bad ending with Lowe’s... enjoy the earnings while it lasts this relationship with Lowe’s is going to end poorly based on some comments from Lowe’s themselves
Totally agree! This must be at all levels and sites. Hiring friends and family members despite how well or not they did in the tryout process(manufacturing side). Our site probably won’t be laying off, since we worked nearly every Saturday in 2020 and so far 2021 we’ve already worked 3-12hr shifts as well as every Saturday.
SW unfortunately has a number of lazy, unmotivated employees, among its ranks. During the Valspar merger, a number of hardworking, dedicated individuals were "downsized," in large part
1) reduce the numbers per the "secret" Valspar contract merger agreement
2) avoid the managers having to "manage," and make decisions based on work ethic - they instead needed to retain their friends, and avoid making the difficult/necessary decisions on cutting those who deserved to go, based on their lack of work.
SW will not need to maintain their headquarters at the current staffing levels. They will need to examine their costs, and decide which positions will be eliminated. Too bad, more hardworking individuals will be "downsized."
