Honestly, wont be long ,if you're locate in North America, they will get your replacement from India, Egypt at 1/3 of your salary (at the base), I'm 64 was not ready to leave after 40 years. still like my job,level2-3,did no have choice , they said they need to cut , was told they prefer to layoff men than women (they are more protected with all is going with human equal right) and they hired someone the next day in Egypt.

The spin off company provides a mechanism to transfer folks and unwanted assets there. Then it becomes the problem of the spin off company on day1 to get rid of any folks or any assets that are not wanted. Would not be surprised if this were to happen in some capacity. Time will Tell.

No bruh, it's because of old-timers such as yourself with outdated skills that are on cruise control collecting a paycheck and complaining how bad IBM is. I wish they lowered the age discrimination cuts to 45.

This kind of stupidity is the reason that IBM is failing as a company. Too many IBMers don't believe in data and science.
Why are they making a health pass. The fake virus which is no worse than the flu is about to go away. We won't need it.
IBM is too liberal to be successful. watch out, IBM also is deep into the development of covid passports in the US. Of course they dont call it covid passport, but that's exactly what the Digital Health Pass is.
IBM started another round of layoffs today.
So far virtually no layoffs in March or in April. It will be interesting to see what May brings, especially since that is when the Kyndryl offers should all be out by.

Yes PIPs going out all the doors with unattainable goals ! But only those over 50 and the others achieved nothing towards sales and I did $18M - So unfair after 20 years my 1st PIP ever!! And HR is supporting the lies ! What a way to end a brilliant career - and now nlt even paying out ouf Quarterly bonus as tbey afe denying wechieve them!! Downfall of what was obe a great company.. if you get a PIP- do t waste your time like I did being a super great employee - just start looking as they won’t let you go to another job while on a PIP!!!!!

Got RA 3-1-21 3 mo pay years medical at what I was paying after 44 years it was time for me. Glad to be out before it implodes ! Current management couldn’t run a lemonade stand lead the world in patents and nothing in new product just keep cutting to show a profit cut till your cutting your own throat!!!
Today, Wednesday 31-March across Australia, many retrenched IBMers had their last day (the January wave). Folks from now shut down Research team in Melbourne, sellers from now shut down Global Markets and many others. Good luck folks!

@1Xfru that's awful! If I got put on a pip for the purpose of laying me off without proper severance I would immediately go to a lawyer and start a wrongful dismissal case.

Yes - and what about all of the PIP’s going out! For those over 50 they are doing PIP’s that are impossible to succeed at rather than Lay-off due to the high amount of law suits or laying off the over 50 crew! truly disgusting and unethical - but leave it to IBM to find a way out !!! Everyone on our team over 50 has has a PIP !!
Word on the street , IBM lawyers can not keep with the law suits coming in from older workers .... They are overwhelmed .. IBM made the biggest mistake , we all saw it , Ginni came out and said it ......Watch for a big pay out to these poor b–tards who got pinked slipped because of their age this year or next . IBM can not keep up with the 100,000 of employees who are going after them !

Interesting to see IBM's approach - continuing layoffs- versus Fidelity who offered a pretty generous package to all those over 55 with at least 10 years of service. The IBM Layoff last June had alot of over 55 folks in it. Layoffs you have control of who you get rid of as opposed to voluntary package but the impact on company reputation and how secure/insecure employees feel is a huge difference. Shame on IBM.

I've heard different rumors and have seen a couple of posts talking about layoffs happening in the beginning part of March with last day March 31st. Normally that would come with a flurry of individuals posting their stories here and on the watching IBM Facebook page but I have literally only seen three or four of those this time around. Things are strangely quiet if there is a big layoff happening this month.

I was laid off years from IBM. A friend told me there are benefits that they/IBM don't include that I'm entitled to that they never informed me about. Does anyone know what those hidden benefits are?
What is the current RA structure? Is it still 30 days to find a new job, 3mth severance, and 1 year healthcare benefits or something else?

I was told yesterday 3/1/21 that I was RA'd, I have til end of month to find something internal.
No need for me to predict, was told yesterday my job is being eliminated on June 30th. I was told I was "lucky" since many of the end dates are March 31st.
But today isn’t Thursday.
I got RA'd this morning. I was told that a lot of my office were being let go.

The reputation of this company has gone right into the sewer. I witnessed MANY great people get let go. Glad I got the hell outta there.
HR & senior mgt are Satan.
I predict that IBM in 2021 will be linked to yet another and bigger scandal that links them with others in some big illegal plot.
Update on IBM layoffs. I have not been RAd yet...but it’s probably coming in the next few years. Here is the current status in my organization. The majority of our customers have not been notified of the RA, and in some instances every resource on the project will be leaving. Management is not responding to emails on staffing.it’s a complete mess. It’s the customer that is suffering and will have no confidence in IBM or anything IBM. Long term it’s looks like it’s all downhill with the current management doing everything to speed up the descent of a once great company.
IBM has been laying people off for over 20 years. Why stop now?
