Does anyone know how bad the 2021 forecast is? Many colleagues concerned about job security.

what contract? GA can lobby all they want to keep extending the USAF acquisition of mq-9 but its a waste of tax payer money. Why invest in a antiquated piece of technology when other are building more advanced UAVs. Also MQ1-C and its new variant is not going to save GA, we are no longer on a war fitting and the other UAVs being sold to foreign countries will not bring back the glory days. a former colleague told me, UAVs are the wave of the future true but in all honesty that will not mean jobs for a company who only sees it self living in the realm of the defense industry. Time to jump ship and start working for a other defense contractor before all the jobs get taken. when i was working for GA a few years ago i keep on hearing the GA-lifers talk about how this will never end! i'm thankful i left before the SH– hit the fan!
I saw a post about 2- 3 weeks ago regarding a new contract. Is that not the case? Is there no new contract?
Based on the current situation, who is concerned about more layoffs in 2021?
GA never layoffs! That was the selling point when explaining why GA pay was not competitive with its competitors. So we have nothing to worry about! GA would never lie to its employees and GA management is the best and most ethical! GAs future is big and bright - I heard management say it and confirm it at year end meetings! So have no worries as 2021 will be the best year ever in company history!
I work for one of the major players and they are actively looking for more workers.
There is no job security. All the major players in defense are doing massive layoffs. GA will have more layoffs and things will be very hard for defense in the coming years
GA is in desperate need of a major contract and the forecast looks bleak. Also the next 4 years are going to be very tough for the defense industry as a whole. On top of that the aerospace industry as a whole is fleeing California for business friendly states. ASI is going to have a very difficult time and a lot of colleagues at ASI have outdated skills sets to compete in the real world... good luck to everyone !
