Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Please STOP using the word "CARE"

To all Shell business leaders EC-2 and above:

Please stop throwing the word "CARE" out every time you have a webcast. Every single one of us cringes whenever you do that. Why? Because we know it is not genuine. We all know the whole "CARE" initiative was invented by your PR consultants to try to burnish your image as you rip people's livelihoods away in 2021.

Oh sure, there are arse kissers that go along with the "CARE" thing, and volunteer to chair so-called "CARE" Skype meetings, but even they know it's rubbish. They are just misguided in thinking by taking an interest in "CARE" activities it will somehow save their jobs.

100% agree. Lets see how much CARE there is when staff can't work due to the stress of the ongoing reorg...."they're just trying to extend their time in Shell......they're taking advantage of Shell Health.....I dont believe they're as sick as they say"

They do this because of you. Because of each one of you in response to Shell people survey results and other feedback they get from the rank and file.

If you don’t like all this kind of stuff (I hate it too), give your boss and the company top scores and keep your mouth shut during feedback sessions. Or you can give low scores trying to send a message. However, it will only create more BS and work for you. Remember, everything is a corporate game even when they tell you otherwise.

The truth is that beyond maybe a few of your immediate co workers you are friends with no body cares.

That is the sad truth of what Shell in the Americas has become. Just to many bag lickers promoted who then in turn promote more yes men and it is every man for them self

The Care that counts is by your team mates and manager. That’s the care that matters most and the one which you can feel if present (or not). I think the EC-2 and above are trying to create a culture of trickle-down care... to mixed effects
