Thread regarding McAfee layoffs

Anyone willing to share severance details?

This RIF is ongoing with no communication from leadership on when an "all clear" will be announced. For those of us who have not yet been notified either way, are there any impacted individuals who would be willing to share (high level) what their severance looked like?

"The severance pkg is very fair, roughly 2wks pay, plus an additional week for every two years of service."

That is less than the US industry-standard of 1-2 weeks per year of service. McAfee does not have this policy?
I work for one of the FAANG companies and we get 2 weeks + other bonuses.

"I wonder the next NPS survey..." - you say that like they gave a c-ap about the ones before. Sure they say they did, but they say a lot of things. And then rip chords are pulled, corporate heads-of-state do a two-step, a defensive-re-org is announced, and the process repeats.

If the survey differentiates "group" leadership vs. "senior" leadership vs. "executive" leadership, you'll get very, very different responses. Often, that is a glaring issue of communication, but in this case it's doubled-down as a competence issue as well.

I wonder the next NPS survey: "my leadership care about people"

There still are many VPs and Directors that should go, in my personal opinion.

Curious who the anonymous poster thinks the buyer is. My immediate guesses would be the obvious choices: MSFT or AMZN. That is based on zero insider knowledge... just thinking about the Management + Cloud pieces.

Look at what they are getting rid of and what they are keeping, and think who the buyer is. Because there is one for sure already, and this is why this is happening.
Cloud tech and endpoint management will survive...
Who would most benefit of these two bits, plus a huge endpoint customer base?
Guess...

So, if you stuck it out for well over a decade, through the Intel Larson criminal days, the Samenuk incompetence, the "Office of the Presidents" announcing redundancy reduction layoffs, the David DeWalt raping and pillaging snow job, the public-then-private-then-public fiesta, done your job well, and promoted/raised to be "expensive", congratulations: here's your check and the door.

Wow. Thanks for nothing.

The severance pkg is very fair, roughly 2wks pay, plus an additional week for every two years of service. The target was mainly the top oldest senior engineers, leaving young guys to step up, and a big savings to the company. So someone with 10 years would receive a payout of about 2 months salary. Plus we will still receive the 2020 annual bonus. This might me a blessing in disguise.
