Could they have chosen a worse time to do this to us? A few weeks ahead of Christmas. They really couldn't have waited until January? Given people a chance to properly enjoy the holidays, especially considering the year we've had? In addition to throwing people out when the job market is FUBAR. Thanks MetLife, for this 'gift' you gave us.

Its never a good time to lose a job. These days one should always have their resume up to date as well as keeping their options open. Back when Met was a mutual insurance company it would have been different, but being a stock company they have to keep the investors happy.
Company doesn’t care about regular employees. This is all about executives making themselves look good so the market absorbs it and they get big multi million stock driven bonuses.
I heard of a few more that were laid off today in Cary, but dam poster 2...brutal... Met was known to be a good company in the past that would not do this kind of thing, and they try and play that as part of their culture still though it is clearly not, and its not something everyone is aware of...
What makes you think they even care about you and your family or it being the holidays? They are a business and they owe you nothing more than your paycheck. There is no loyalty to employees regardless of how loyal you feel you have been to the company. Recent large major layoffs happened in 2019 and have not stopped since. Did you not plan accordingly? Any person with some sense would have been saving up and spending wisely or looking for a new job. Those who did neither shouldn't try to call foul.
I would prob want to know before I spent on holiday shopping - but I agree.
