Thread regarding Micron Technology Inc. layoffs

Contact or no contact?

Ok so here’s my dilemma. I am about to start actively looking for other employment. On all applications where it stays “Can we contact current employer?” We have the option of checking yes or no. I have always chosen “yes” but in this instance I don’t know if that’s a good idea. If I say no it will look suspicious to the company I am applying for. What should I do?

Look at it this way. Micron wants you to leave correct? I think all they do is verify employment unless you give them your supervisors number. I wouldnt worry too much about them giving you a bad report. Seems like it invites a lawsuit

Select NO. Reason why is I got called out by my employer about it. Thank goodness I did get the next job I applied for cause they wanted me gone because of it. Micron might not be an issue but smaller companies will be!

Dude just leave. I spent 9 Years at Micron. It put me 7 years behind in financial life. The experience is not worth what they pay...

I was in the same boat a year ago when I was given a Performance Failure 100% Guaranteed Plan. Indicate that they can contact your employer, but only provide the Micron HR number. I’ve been told Micron HR can only verify employment. That way, they don’t contact your manager directly.
