Thread regarding General Atomics layoffs

Toxic Culture

The culture at GA has become increasingly toxic. I have seen people getting threaten to loose their job. I have witness awful behavior all the up to the director level. Thank god I don’t need this job and secured another position. I was not let go in the last rounds of layoffs but I always don’t want to sit around and beg for my job. Good luck to everyone staying at a dying company

None of the big 3 will buy out GA! Why would a major aerospace company buy out old out dated technology and lazy employees? The big 3 are getting rid of all their lazy employees - I am sure they won’t bring in other people who stayed working at a place that was building outdated drones! Do you honestly thing GA is building better drones than the big 3??

just guessin here but prob Boeing or Lockheed gonna buy out prts of GA. Why? not enough cash on the poker table to play, so Blues gonna sell !!

above posts - couldnt agree more. you speak up at ga, u get targeted. Sux cause they want to help the company but those in charge just feel threatened. anyone worth there salt has LEFT - for Grumman, Boeing, Raytheon, whatever. ga wil survive but dead end career

GA is definitely a place where you DON’T want to speak up. Anyone that questions his or hers supervisor or manager will be a target forever. As someone who has gone to my supervisor and HR about unfair treatment, people slacking off and always on their phones without anyone giving a damn, yet I was constantly being watched and targeted by my supervisor, guess who they canned during the first round of layoffs? Me. And I thought going to HR would help my cause to get my supervisor off my back, but it didn’t work, it just made things worse for me, which lead to more surveillance and constant nitpicking and micro-managing.

Lots of backstabbers and sh– talkers at GA. You literally cannot trust anyone as many employees are always trying to one up other employees in order to look good for the bosses or simply to rat someone out for something so insignificant. People I thought I was cool with, turned out to secretly be against me. For whatever reasons. It’s a popularity contest, if you’re seen as a threat to the higher ups, or someone that stands up for what you believe politically or otherwise, you won’t last long there. For a company that supposedly supports employment growth opportunities from within, if your boss doesn’t like you, he or she will not allow you to advance in the company and they will make sure HR knows about it so they too will tell the Talent Acquisition/HR managers at GA to Mark you for life and not allow you to advance to other positions. Thus forcing you to quit in order to find other career opportunities elsewhere at another company. It’s effin BS! But that’s how this company operates. Glad I am long gone from that dying company.

GA is a great place to work at right now. You don’t have to go in. You don’t have to work at home and you still get paid! I don’t understand why people are complaining. Must be a bunch of people that were let go. There probably will be more layoffs as there is no work to do. But don’t rock the boat, always say your supervisor is a genius and always say you are working hard and things will pass. I have no complaints as I am doing nothing and still getting paid. I have no complaints for as long as it last.

I know of one manager who said he regretted letting go a few of the ones chosen in the first lot of layoffs. I wasn’t laid off but I chose to leave Ga recently and move back to my home state.

'tis BAD. double-digits of good employees LEAVING voluntarily. Execs are starting to go Full PR on everyone - great place to work, great product, and so on to keep more people from leaving. FIRE THE Sh–BAGS.

Things aren’t that bad. I literally have no work load. My boss gives me no work and in our monthly meetings to the director we give him the same updates all year. We don’t change anything in the slide deck and he always says great job. I take more breaks now bc I am at home and no one says anything. Life is pretty good right now. It’s actually great to work at GA right now.

The work place has gotten very bad but I don’t know who to turn to. My boss fired the only person that would speak up. I can’t afford to lose my job as I am terrified I won’t be able to get another one. I feel so trapped but really have no other options. I can’t afford to speak up and face reprisal.

I have also witnessed awful behavior. But if you speak up you become a target. You are taking the right path to just leave. I have been sending out resumes but haven’t gotten a lot of responses
