There's no point in keeping it open. Sales are down drastically and I'm not surprised. You can only pester people for so long by trying to get them to sign up for something completely unrelated to what they came into the store for (yes, I'm talking about credit cards) before they decide to say f— it and move on to the next store. Just lock the door and be done with it so we can all move on with our lives.

I understand completely. I hate having to try to push credit cards on people. It shouldn't be a spur of the moment decision to get a new line of credit. People sign up before even looking at the interest rate, etc. It's disgusting. And sometimes I am having a good rapport with a customer helping them find things and we're both smiling and such and then I have to ruin that by mentioning credit and the surveys and their face shifts and they frown and/or get angry and now they don't like me.
Sounds like you should be the one moving on to the next store. If you're that bitter and miserable, move on. No one is forcing you to be there.
