Thread regarding Amazon.com layoffs

Why Amazon doesn't do layoffs often

Amazon has created this image of a company that rarely lays off people but the reason why that's true is that it's using and abusing its employees to the point where the only thing they can do is quit! Of course they don't do layoffs when everybody is quitting!

AWS will keep those they want. This means a lot of BS politics, which makes AWS no different from an IBM. After your 4-year handcuff period is over,
If you’re like you get more money (or promoted), if you’re not liked, you stop receiving stock and take a $80-100K pay cut. So no need to fire people, there’s other “mechanisms” that will make people leave.

Anyone with no complaints must be working in HR. Anyone who works in Corporate cannot make any complaints due to the lack of trust in HR and how they will throw you under the bus when the next round of PIPs is due.

I’ve no complaints. Other than having to deal with their woke policies/politics I’m treated and paid very well.
