Thread regarding Gannett Co. Inc. layoffs

Notifications done by January 15th

Everybody affected by cuts will know by January 15th but will also be able to stay until April. That is more than enough time to polish up a resume, network like crazy, and save as much as possible. I don't know what my fate will be, but at least that provides me with some comfort...

So what was the outcome? Did the layoffs actually take place and if so what was the sad outfall? I feel for those impacted as well as those that could be effected in 2021. It is very clear cost reductions are the only way to show investors ‘at best’ flat growth. The companies far too lean. Almost impossible to hit goals and objectives. I’m confident more good and able staff remaining will self elect to find alternative employment soon vs wait to see what the coming months may bear. I wish ‘all well’. Be smart. Be proactive. Keep looking at the bigger picture as we have not seen tomorrow be any better than far. That’s why I chose to move on by my own doing in a professional manner.
