Well this turned out to be BS. What a surprise.

It’s been rumoured that some of the fellows laid off in the summer didn’t get paid out their full severance. In other words laid off for cause not simply surplused. An US law suit has been filed but some guys still stuck IK having filed local ones. Thoughts?

Look at what’s going on at Shell. The company will assuredly follow their (and the actions of others) lead in making the first quarter 2021 very devastating to the lives of US expats working in Saudi Arabia. It doesn’t matter how good your PMP is, they just do not need or want you in the Kingdom.

The company really needs to take a look at the educational and professional credentials of many of the US expats to see if they are really qualified to work in their field. Make them re-qualify for their positions like Shell is doing. The exercise would be a real eye opening experience.

Some US expat con artists hold Bachelor of Arts degrees when focused B.Sc., BBA or STEM curriculums should be demanded.

E is quite high hurdle meaning exceeding expectations. This simply means that 95% of expats will be gone if this cut-off is actually applied. Ooops!

What ever happened to the Dental Clinic in Dhahran? If the only expats left are from the UK, it will not be needed and they can stop future expenditures on toothpaste at the commissary.

You have to type in Aramco Careers and click international applicants. A call to Aramco Americas revealed that these are not positions that will be filled, but instead are a fishing expedition.

A check of the Jobs at Aramco site does not reveal anything.

Check the website, Saudi Aramco is still hiring international applicants.

The Company is going to follow the lead of Shell and other majors that are making employees re-qualify for their positions by January 8th 2021 or be laid off. The company will be looking hard at the backgrounds in terms of education and directly-related credentials of all Expat employees to see if they meet current requirements, not past experiences that are no longer needed by the company.

It is surprising that the company (with the exception of the Law Department) still has US, Canadian and UK expats because they are not needed, they hold no special job skills and they are very unproductive. The US expats are outright hostile towards each other and their benefits are out of the market. Many well qualified locals can replace me and I am ready to go.

To be on the safe side, make sure you do not get into any Christmas debt this year. Take a look at the Dhahran Mall stores. Expats have already been replaced by very indignant local girls that do not want to be there. High level expats at the Company are currently being pushed out the door, even those with E+ PMPs in some cases. They just cannot afford them any more.

Absolutely agree with you. Some poor M or D chap is making too much noise. That's all. Even if it happens, the worst imaginable punishemt you can get in Aramco is to wach the fence from the other side (a poor contractor). If I have to leave, I will leave for good and forget about the place once far all. Simply take the money and delete it from memory.

Absolute nonsense. Just a lame laid off M or D surplus expat making up rumors to discourage others.

This strategy is already happening in some areas. Everything is so secretive at the company that the Expats will never know it until it is too late. Watch for the procurement areas to get hammered during the first quarter 2021. Happy New Year category ā€œEā€ expats. They have to complete the process before March SAIP payments are made.
