Went online and ordered Windstream internet, put in all my info, selected my package (only one choice), and completed the order. Said I'd get an email wit further instructions. Waited and waited and no email, said to myself....maybe I should go with Spectrum instead. Ordered internet from Spectrum online. Next steps were provided immediately upon order completion. Went to pick up my equipment next day. Internet up and running 30 minutes after getting home, nice fast stable connection. Then the day after that I finally get an email from Windstream asking to call a number to complete my order. Totally inept company...

I watched a few of my pop sites go dark...batteries around 15v...or had flags on the door from 2 weeks earlier saying power would cut that day. I have had to run generators around the state just to keep sites powered up...I have sites that WS hadn’t paid rent in 10 months are are being sued to get them out of building. WS pays the LR5 millions but can’t make a $1k rent payment or give the workers a raise.
I don't understand the not paying the bills part. I have been here for years and I get paid and never known of any of our locations to be shut down for none payment.
Now as for DSL, that is OLD technology and don't understand why you would even try to buy or order it. In areas where we over the FTTH, there is not a company out there that would beat that service or price.
Windstream still only offers DSL in most areas. Paradyne DSLAMs for days.
Concord Telephone Co installed fiber past 10s of 1000s of homes before Windstream bought CTC 10 to15 years ago. Windstream didn't follow through on offering FTTH until 2-3 years ago - they just offered awful DSL. The fiber cable outside plant was all there except the drop cables.
Finally they started offering FTTH and installing drop cables. I signed up for it. It's great.
Spectrum was once good in our neighborhood but bogs down badly nowadays. My neighbors have been switching to Windstream, too, and they love it.
Fiber is great stuff and very reliable. It doesn't deteriorate over time like copper.
I have no problems seeing customer reviews on layoff site. It gives me an idea of company performance. Other review sites deletes bad reviews or their reviews are out of date and then you have to have to sign up for an account (so they can track you) in order to leave a review. I think what OP posted is informative.
I know I show my clients this page so they know what they are in for...every last one...and tell them I will see them soon
Yeah, I’m sure a “customer” went looking for a layoff site to voice their displeasure at how a new service order was treated.
Were you expecting quality service from a literally bankrupt company? Why are you here anyway, this isn't customer support.
Why would you even think Windstream would deliver a product. They can't even pay their bills and employees.
