I worked at American Express for over 30 years, and what I learned in that time is invaluable. Initially, I was so impressed with the management and the leadership and the employee treatment. That changed over the years, and now the company is known more for being a one-trick pony when it comes to cost savings, which is to say layoffs abound, then any real leadership. There is no loyalty, and the company funds Its overpaid leadership team by underpaying employees offshore. I hope this eventually catches up with them.
