Thread regarding UPS layoffs

Layoffs have started

People have been receiving notices for the past few days, not sure if it's going to continue after this week. As it was mentioned before, there's absolutely no reason for these cuts considering how well the company is doing right now. I can't imagine how bad it'll get once we actually have a financial reason for layoffs...

After 9 years at ups as package data supervisor I was told my position was being eliminated and essentially being outsourced. Took the severance and no longer wanted to work for a company that doesn't respect loyalty, experience and hard work. Also considering I did work duties outside my title. I begun asking for Equal pay, men employees getting paid more than females. FACT and proof. Timing of notice is consequential , makes you wonder. Environment at ups is changing and not for the best. Ups no longer cares about the quality of service to their customers. It's ALL about profit to shareholders screwing customers and nothing for their employees

23 years at the company. My department was cut significantly, say 33% since Jan 1st. My department sees the numbers let go because of my job function. 28 sales and finance full time sups and managers were cut in my district in the month of February. I was informed i would be offered a position in a completely different function, and then it was rescinded. I was told i would go into another job function after this first offer was rescinded. As of Monday of this week, i was told i will be let, with 30 days notice, and i will be notified by the end of March. Looking forward to detoxifying all things brown. Evil company to work for.

Left there 4 years ago after 20years with company. Saw the writing on wall as districts continued to consolidate, management was overworked, and underqualified people were put into leadership roles. Feel bad for enterprise and district staff folks that have been let go. Just heard from a few friends they wiped out the entire enterprise sales staff this week in the old district Going public was when the company sold out. People used to matter now it’s all about the bottom line. Didn’t take long for the outsider to make the cuts even after a profitable quarter. As Amazon continues to shed its volume the only way to stay profitable is to cut people out. I give them 5 years or another strike before it all comes crashing down. Sell Mortimer SELL!!

Carol Tome's job is to stream line UPS for Amazon's takeover of the company. Take your money and get out before it's too late.

I talked to a couple of HR people who still remain with UPS. HR, Security, and Finance was hit with layoffs in my district. The hardest was Finance. That department is now basically non-existent by the end of Feb 2021 judging by the Specialist I talked to.
