Any idea what the 2020 bonus is looking like based on your package for those of us not fortunate enough to get packaged out? Thinking about throwing in the towel once any bonus clears the account.

Hey dude,
As long as Alberta is dependent on oil and gas you can’t be totally free unless you move out of the province. Oil and gas is at the heart of the province. It accounts for a large percent of the tax revenue collected by the province. It’s the reason why we don’t have a provincial sales tax.

Without a transitional plan Alberta will continue to be a have not province. We need a clear plan. Where is the heritage fund setup by Peter lougheed? What has Jason Kenny and has United conservative (vacationing politicians while we are in lockdown) doing?

Yes, I totally agree we have milked the oil industry for years. The pipeline will only help in the short term but not long term as we will need to pivot into other industries. Why can’t we just refine oil here in Canada - better yet Alberta.

I know people who didn’t move to Alberta as they could see the boom and bust cycle. Sure the salaries were really good in Alberta and house prices are dirt cheap compared Vancouver and Toronto. But what difference does it make if we have a high unemployment rate

GME is the stock ticker for GameStop. It's been in the news this week.

I mean... I made more off GME then I ever did working at Husky so why not. Haha.

I enjoyed working at husky for 20 yrs, but I have to say I should have left sooner, but the money was good. Great week, I got a terrific package plus GME payout. I could do an early retirement, but I'm only 51, so I think I will contract for a bit to make a little more cash. Thanks husky and CVE for being so generous with the severance. I pity you s—ers that have to stay on that rat infested sinking ship.
Good luck hope you get your package in the next round of layoffs, if they have any money left to package you.

what's with all the name calling? Don't understand why people have to call other people names.

I agree the longer your there the more you keep thinking is it going to be me today? Plus the packages were good! Less competition for me to find my next job. By the time you get laid off you'll have a c-appier package and your going to be competing in a market that we would of filled.

Its funny how people think the grass is greener on the other side!

Why would we rub it in? Because we told our bosses at Husky this exact situation would happen if they didn't do their jobs properly. Nobody listened so its nice to get a treasure map when you're kicked off the sinking ship. S—s to be left behind, you're gonna hate your life

@ cuo+198wmf6o I really don’t care what you think. I got nothing when I got laid off and I’m still relieved. I get to move on with my life and so do the people I care about.

Terrific package plus GME payout plus EI plus early retirement. It's been a good week.

Sounds like management got something right when they laid you four off. Cenovus can do without your kind of attitude and your colleagues that remain are likely relieved you're gone.

What kind of person rubs their good fortune in the face of other people who got little or nothing? And what kind of person celebrates early retirement by posting on a layoffs forum? It's pathetic, bitter, and shallow.

I was 28 years with Husky, best day ever.

Same here. Got a terrific package and also made a boatload off of GME to pay off my mortgage and retire early.

I’m with these people. I was at Husky and my department is basically gone. Cenovus is going to have a really bad time cleaning up after this. I’m so glad I’m out. I would never, ever go back.
