Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

Trying to be productive while worrying about layoffs?

My job here has been reduced to constantly thinking about when the next round of layoffs is and whether I will be axed this time. In the meantime, I am totally demotivated to work. How can you be fully productive if you constantly have to think about a threatening layoff?
This company is joke. I can no longer even remember the reasons I tried to get a job at Sungard, but it was a big mistake.

It is SO much easier to find a job while you have a job. Take care of yourself. Nobody else will!

If you feel that way then get prepared. Update your resume and start your search while you are still employed. Don’t get caught with your pants down. I saw the writing on the wall a few years ago. Laid off/let go jun1 2019...but I pre planned for it. I had a great 22+year career there and I was not upset when it happened...i truly miss the gals on the team and SAS was a great company with great benefits.it all comes down to dollars and the bottom line of the company. If you are unhappy then look and take on a new role somewhere else.if you are staying for other reasons then be prepared so the impact is less.good luck to you in your decision. And a big shout out to my douche bag friends “towing the line” (ya’all know who you are—lol)
