Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Amazon workers are taking a union vote. Is it time for GM salaried workers to end the abuse by management and do the same?

"You as a GM direct, in all of your schooling costs, are you ALL that much further ahead?"

No, that's why they hate the UAW. They can't stand people doing what they consider poor people jobs and being able to enjoy their life without having to scape by.

With enough time, Amazon employees may earn enough to rival GM employees. It's happening all over. Don't think this it's possible?

Costco caps out at $30-$35 per hour, for a non-technical skillset. It's a livable wage. You as a GM direct, in all of your schooling costs, are you ALL that much further ahead?

I have five degrees. Please hire me for your $XXX,XXX job. Thank you.

What an id–tic post. What similarities in skill sets do Amazon employees have with the people at the TC or MPG? Dumb

If we organize, maybe we can keep working remotely. I never want to go back to the office!

Good luck trying to switch departments if you are over a certain age. You need to leave before the next layoff once your EGM gets wind of you wanting to leave their warm embrace.

Unilingual Michigan mo–ns won’t vote to unionize. Oh well too bad for them, once 2019 strikes again, you will see them crying and whining.

If you want your job outsourced or to get paid the same as the scab next to you go right ahead. Why not just do a good job or if your manager is a d—k switch departments?

Ever notice unions resulted in employers hiring future staff as part time?

Time for union negotiators to rethink how they negotiate. Quit making deals that incentivizes employers to hire everyone on as a part time workers.

Certainly, the 'professional' ranks should unionize.
Although the skill-sets - Accountancy, Human Resource, Lawyering, etc. -
are more prone to being easily 'scabbed'.
It'd be a hard slog to get it done.

Abusive EGMs hate working remotely. They long to reestablish the toxic office environment and power games they play.
