Thread regarding Marathon Petroleum layoffs

Has anyone come back?

Is there anyone here who was recalled to share their experiences? Are you in a worse situation now than before? Honestly, I would gladly go back if it was possible because after the layoff I went to six different interviews, but all the options were much worse than what I had here. If nothing else, I would love to come back at least one day just to see what the atmosphere is like now after a few months.

You guys think it’s not obvious you are MPC FDY employees? It’s so pathetic to see what you are willing to put out on here pretending you are no longer with this sh---y company

I was severed in 2020 from a corporate role and just returned. While I’m in a different department now, I received about an 20% increase from my previous job. New job is much slower pace. And now that I have seen how the company has treated people, I don’t feel at all guilty coasting my way to retirement.

I haven’t been called back, but I still have quite a few friends that work there (I’m in Findlay). From talking with them, it’s not terrible, but the culture has changed to the point where most regard it as simply being a job, rather than somewhere special to work. And some have even commented that if something better or higher paying came along, they would not hesitate to put in their 2 weeks.

From what I have gathered the culture change is that the company has changed from do the right thing to do the cheapest thing.
