Is there anyone here who hasn’t felt favoritism on their own skin? For the hundredth time, I’ve convinced myself that it’s not worth being productive here. Many great workers left this company one way or another, just because they were not favorites. I don’t even know where this company will end up if the message sent to its employees is that it’s not worth being a good worker?

If you started at Amex before they got rid of retiree health insurance, you’re eligible for it if you’ll turn 55 before you leave. I was able to negotiate my end date/severance so I turned 55 before my severance ended. Of course they didn’t tell me that when I got laid off, but check your employee info. It’s the same health insurance options the employees get but you pay more in premiums. It’s a pretty good deal and an opportunity to make them pay for letting me go after 20 years.
Same here. Worked for Axp for 33 years and was laid off. They really do not have any retirement benefits so retiring or not retiring from Axp isn’t an issue. The issue is not being at the age for Medicare.
Wow. I kept hearing nothing but good about this company. It's bad everywhere.
Yes, exactly like High School, but with adults. This company does not respect tenure anymore. I was with them 36 years, and they layer me off 2 years before retirement. They’re dirty.
Like high school....except for Adults.
