I just want to say that the grass certainly IS greener in a lot of places. If you're unhappy or uncertain then brush up that resume and LinkedIn profile and get after it! There are many companies on huge hiring surges in IT right now. Just sayin.

The grass is not greener! Sungard is a c-ap company, bad culture, back-stabbers everywhere etc. BUT if you can hold on and wait this pandemic BS out, and leave on your own terms, then do it. I was "laid off" in May from Solution Engineering, had to take a sales job with a huge company and it has been nothing but miserable every day. Thankfully I am employed but I don't feel like it's going to last. So, take what you can get, use training $$ if they still have them, and network like it's your full-time job. Good luck - hope things get better for you!

Yeah, right. Strike, walk out, then get fired. Don't do it that way. Have confidence in yourselves. I know and respect and value what you do DCO. You have been managing and solving difficult problems and finding solutions to them under impossible deadlines and immense pressure for the entire time you've worked here and employers will know that when they see Sungard on your resume. You can get another gig. So update your resume, then move on, but don't strike or walk out. If you do, you'll have a hard time getting references. Good luck.

Rally Your DCO team and walk out! Stick it to them ,.. you’re right ... they can’t hire a “fresher” to replace you like they have every other position ...

That's right @1vtw+19o34cRy you are a hero you probably listen to that Lennon song on a loop thank god for DC Ops you are the real heros, forget about the "front line healthcare workers, nurses, doctors, pharmacy employees, ambulance drivers EMTs, police officers, firemen, truck drivers, UPS FedEx USPS drivers deliverers, grocery store and convenience store employees, gas station attendants, and the people who had no other options but are brave enough to work at drive through Covid testing stations and are exposed to hundreds a day that probably have Covid." I'm bored with this

Lol you must one of the people working from home who got to carry over time because you don't have to use it so called working from home. Working my a–. You get covid you use NO time we have people now with NO sick time they had to use it already. Dco is getting screwed while all you bums work from home. Come on and run your own cables! POS. We are the lowest paid and do the most. If we all walked out you would all be screwed. If you walked out we could replace you with somebody overseas since you work at home anybody can work from home from anywhere in the world nobody can work in dco unless you're in this country. so for the guy that said stop complaining those people worse off than we are because of their jobs that is apples and oranges that's a joke one has nothing to do with the other get your head out of your dco is getting hosed bottom line anybody outside of dco won't understand rsops sits at home does nothing even though they are essential.

@1qgs+19o34cRy, not going to play a game of internet tough guy with you because that would be really pathetic, but I think you are missing the point, nobody at Sungard should be complaining about how bad st is here when most other working people have it much worse than any Sungard employees right now, if you weren't so consumed by self pity you'd realize that, and based on your very sad reply I assume your one of Sungards working class heros in DC OPs who really does think he's a tough guy, OK good for you, but know that AD and the rest of us laugh at you because if you had any bls or a resume you'd quit and get another job

And to @1mzk+19o34cRy, you are also missing the point, which is that most other people have it much worse than Sungard employees right now and that you continue to remain employed here proves it, that or like internet tough guy @1qgs+19o34cRy you either don't have the b**ls or resume to get another job, but you'll both be here until the DC you are currently working in is sold off

You should both be ashamed of yourselves and stop complaining because alot of people have it much worse than you and have to work outside in the s**t and have a real reason to complain that's my point that's all now eff off stop feeling sorry for yourself put down the bottle and start working on your resume

I am by no means a corporate shill and I agree with the OP but this place this job, with exception of jobs held SUNGARD AS DCO EMPLOYEES, isn't that bad in comparison to the jobs and working environments of front line healthcare workers, nurses, doctors, pharmacy employees, ambulance drivers EMTs, police officers, firemen, truck drivers, UPS FedEx USPS drivers deliverers, grocery store and convenience store employees, gas station attendants, and the people who had no other options but are brave enough to work at drive through Covid testing stations and are exposed to hundreds a day that probably have Covid. All of these people go to work every day in environments that present a greater chance of exposing them to this horrible plague than the rest of us corporate folks and all of them have moms dads kids brothers sisters children 90 year old grandparents that they risk exposing to this plague because they have no choice but to go to work outside in the s**t and cannot work from home. So it's all relative.
