I was one of the long term employees terminated on January 26th. To those of you who made it through the first round I say: Why do you not reach out? Why do you ignore on Linkedin? There's no guarantee you won't be next.

I have the personal cell number of the friends I made, they all respond, most met the same fate. The people left behind don't want to say hi because they threw you under the bus and feel awkward about it.
When you run into them in a few years give them a handshake and look them in the eye, they will likely still be skittish just seeing you.
Yes , agree with the 4 people described here.
Some people dodging bullets better than Neo from the Matrix with these job cuts.
I guess it pays to know people
LinkedIn is now full of spammers and phishers. I no longer update it. A lot of people go in to check out yours and your connections' backgrounds so they can send everyone useless emails and possibly commit fraud. There's a reason why the account is free too. Don't put too much of yourself out there because your info is not private.
People have surviver guilt. Also waiting for the next blow in March. Nobody is safe yet and when people are struggling themselves it is hard to reach out and support others.
I've found many people haven't even looked at LinkedIn for quite some time as profiles haven't been updated. LinkedIn stuff goes straight to the junk bin for some. Just try a few other ways to get in touch. If they were a friend maybe a call might work. Good luck to you all.
husky culture is shocking, not many decent people left there, just corporate butt lickers trying to move up. no loss if they don't respond, i guess there were never your friend in the first place
I found that too... after many years working together you mean nothing once you are out.... so sad
I would, but I don't know who you are.
