Wondering if anyone else received word but it sounds like Fry's is reaching out to tell employees they are shutting down.

So sorry to hear this. Timing couldn’t be worse. Good news is there are companies hiring and a lot of people shifted from traditional retail to Amazon as an option.
Flashback to when this happened to me at Montgomery Wards. I was selling a TV and extended warranty and the news was on a tv nearby. Headline was Montgomery Wards Going out of business showing all the execs with boxes leaving their Chicago office. Still sold the TV, and to refund the extended warranty. 0 notice.
Sorry to hear about your job loss, but it can't really be that surprising given the abysmal store stocking issues over the last couple of years. Can't blame you for having job seeking difficulties during the pandemic quarantine/lock-downs. But yeah, should have started looking sooner but hindsight is 20/20. No surprise they gave zero notice; it's what I predicted would happen. The only surprise is how long Fry's remained open. I wonder why they kept going...maybe a tax or property scheme? (Maybe they were delusional thinking things would turn around, who knows.)
As a customer, I noticed the inventory issues around mid-2019 when aisles were starting to look sparse and some were even starting to get dismantled from what I recall. By the end of the year, end caps were starting to go. Management kept lying to staff about the situation, from what I heard, to prevent staff from all leaving or something. Haven't stepped foot into a Fry's since Jan 2020 and saw that they were selling "massage devices for women" in glass boxes.
Best of luck, things can only get better for the fired staff.
From an employee on FB: Well heres life of 2020/2021. The pandemic happened, the winter storm happened and now in loosing my job after nearly 6 years... Store closing down.
Was told "all locations permanently closing tomorrow" no notice given.
