Think about it this way: if you are laid off you get a nice chunk of change to help tide you over until you find a new job, and whatever you find is bound to be better than this place. It's not as if you'd be leaving a good workplace that respects its employees and treats them right. Wherever you go, you can only end up in a better place.

@5bup "It’s not fair game to trash Phillips"
Its not phillips 66 per se, it is a great company,
Its that in Bartlesville only the most horrible overbearing toads get promoted to leadership roles, this kind only float to the top because they are the loudest, most arrogant and bullying,
This happens where you have managers who cannot be bothered with making actual day-to-day decisions instead who are off inventing new words to use for Lunch Break,
One thing we learned this year, IT for the most part can be done remotely and with the majority of systems hardware located in the cloud. The days of Data Centers and personnel are over.
Technology has made it easier to eliminate onsite jobs and may never return like downtown clothing stores and bookstores.
Plus with the decline in the oil industry, they will eliminate cost associated with people, and buildings,
It’s not fair game to trash Phillips, it’s everywhere
HR and department managers are absolutely the worse in Bartlesville - they find who they want to get rid of and then work at it until its done and it does not matter the lies, unlawful acts, or vicious rumors and gossip they want to fabricate and HR is definitely never there for the employee at least not in Bartlesville
The statement about Bartlesville employees getting the axe is very true. Most Bartlesville jobs will be outsourced soon.Benefits are probably the main reason people are concerned. Don’t think the company values you and DO NOT think HR is there for you .The company knows who they want to get rid off long before a lay off is announced. I hate to say it but the company will do everything they can to not give you a severance.
If youre unlucky enough to work in Bartlesville then you would be lucky to get the axe,
I’ve only been here a year. I get like 3 weeks severance
