DXC drones and inspection to verify if DXC employees are working

This is sad and shows how this company degraded over time. Just got from director level staff meeting and found out there is another executive level initiative to have drones and inspection randomly checkin on DXC employees. This is to ensure proper time spent while forking from home. It will be announced as a preventive measure.

all dxc employees will have to report their time spent at 15min level discretion explicitly marking checkbox that they have spent it only for job related tasks and are fully aware of consequeances of misusing comany time, including termination but not limited to it

A good place for drones is to spot any tick "yes" management within DXC doing any meaningful work - along with bullying management - a good place to cull the fat and inefficiencies from the company.

In the US monitoring employees is broadly legal and unregulated. Not just the general email traffic and CCTV but even keystroke monitoring.

Within the European Union member states they have General Data Protection Regulation and UK (DPA 2018) written into law to protect individual rights of its individuals. Though even in Sacramento Calif where they used drones to monitor construction workers, they were not allowed to identify them, only to view their progress of their construction, from way up high. But with so many drone laws now, it will be a wonder if the FAA would approve corporates flying their cr@p around when Amazon is trying to deliver garden shears over people’s doorways.

DXC doesn’t trust it’s employees and likewise employees don’t trust DXC management having had years of empty promises, so it would come as no surprise to a DXC employee that DXC would be seriously considering more ways to further undermine employee confidence and trust in itself.

Will they release those thin legged drones that spider crawl up your face and scan your eyeballs ? There’s this way that you can block their digital camera feeds now. It’s called closing your blinds.

They would need your lawful consent which must be ‘freely given’ which is going to be impossible in an employment scenario They must inform you WHEN they are monitoring you ( to avoid covert spying) so you can wear a high visibility jacket to avoid the risk of them filming others who have not been informed. They would need to put up signage showing they are operating in the area. They might claim the legal grounds of ‘legitimate business interest’ but they can’t because that interest infringes on the ‘rights and freedoms’ of the individual. So they would have to change your employment t’s &C’s to require your explicit consent.

Still its fun for execs to leak this stuff onto social media. Keeps em worried.
