Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

DXC technology is part of the past not the future

Computer science Corp CSC is the second oldest computer software and services company in the world founded in 1959 and the first one computer usage founded in 1958 went bankrupt and out of business in the early 70s

EDS electronic Data systems was founded in 1965 after the release of the IBM mainframe in 1964

Look at the customer base of DXC technology is there any new customer that is part of the future? Look at the services DXC technology provides the margin on it outsourcing is barely over 1%, does it make sense to go and buy the IBM services business and keep the legacy EDS it outsourcing business just so the stock price is not lumpy? Good for Mike Salerno. Not good for you

I'm sorry you are looking for a future in the past.

When I read the original post there are 2 words that are an oxymoron – DXC Technology.

DXC is not technology by any stretch of the imagination. If anything, DXC is a trainwreck in motion (going backwards).

EDS dead , WTF is a Metavance system ?

Metavante Technologies, Inc., through its subsidiary, Metavante Corporation, provided financial technology services, software and financial services regulatory advice and consulting to its customers, consisting primarily of small to large sized financial institutions.[2] The $1.5 billion organization was headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and employed over 5,600 employees in 35 U.S. cities.[3] On October 1, 2009, Metavante was acquired by Fidelity National Information Services.[4]

DXC's business is in the past, yes.

But the great thing is that no modern companies want that business.

It's just too big a pain in the a–.

What is this amazing future that people keep talking about? What radical new world of IT services is it that DXC is missing?

Go on, I'll bite, what do you think DXC should be doing?

EDS was started in 1962 when Ross Perot was making his sales target goals early in the year. IBM wouldn't act upon his suggestion to lease out computer time on their idle mainframe computers, so he decided to start his own business.
