Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Our products

Just by looking at our products it is clear how disoriented this company really is. Most of us don’t want to admit it, but our products have been a failure lately. The worst thing is that their quality is questionable. Just my two cents. When did this company lose that former enthusiasm to make great and quality products? Where did it all go?

GM's stuff works because of their reliance on suppliers. You can't design fuel injectors in Excel.

Had a friend at GM, dimensional engineer, that stated we at GM are luckier than we are skilled. It's amazing that some of our stuff actually works.

Those were the words on the inside from someone that compiles upper and lower limit tolerances, for manufactured parts that were outsourced.

I remember people saying that the nice part of working at GM was that you knew which cars not to buy.

I subscribe to many automotive magazines. In road tests, GM cars are mostly judged mediocre.
