Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

My Boring Thoughts

While I agree with some of the posts on this site, as someone who recently left the company after 5+ yrs due to relocation, I have to say MetLife treated me well - I was paid fairly for my work, the work life balance was good, and I enjoyed working with my colleagues. I wasn't underpaid (compared to similar positions at other major insurers - you can't compare to a different industry).

Did I have to put up with bureaucratic cr-p occasionally? Yes. Did I like everything I saw at Metlife? No. Truth is there's politics in every company. You hear drama going on in your local grocery store, let alone at a company with 50k employees.

Honestly, if you're not satisfied with the company, it's better to pick up some new skills and interview elsewhere.

Sorry for not adding any exciting stories to the site.

They're literally training us how to update our resumes? Wtf? Such a strange strategy.

@Honestly.... is this how the company is going to try and get rid of people? Feigning sympathy?
