Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Has the PUC been bought?

Where is the PUC in the midst of our leadership driven failure? We have determined it's the most cost effective path to just pay the fines levied for our failure to perform. Why haven't there been any massive "do I have your attention now" fines like the old days? Everyone seems resigned to the notion that we will be going the way of Frontier Communications.

Frontier layed off all Tier Ii Switching several months back. Outsourced overseas. Allen, Texas NOC shutting down in June outsourced to Nokia. Under the table deal with Nokia as new FTTP equipment is guess who? Nokia. Similar situation at Windstream. Expect the new Frontier FYBR to go BK within 24 months.

The scope of PUC oversight has been curtailed in many states.

Broadband and other non POTS services aren't regulated in the same way as POTS.

You can't get blood from a turnip. Just like the union can't run the company in spite of itself, neither can the PUC.
