Recently our assistant manager got promoted to GM. And they kept her at the same store. She was a horrible assistant as it was and there’s really little to no respect for her. Didn’t know half the stuff she needed for that assistant role and now all she does is sit in her office all day and delegate all her work on to the 2 supervisors we have left (a lot of sup roles haven’t been filled in a while) literally working them to death. No one wants to deal with her anymore and she definitely doesn’t pull her own weight. I think she was a pity promotion. The hardest I’ve seen her work is when it’s five o’clock and she leaves no matter how many fires are burning.

don't worry she will gone soon
She’s been with the company for a long time. As have I. I’ve done it all with this company and others. Twice. I’ve had the best leaders as well, so I know the example that should be set. But when you don’t know how to do a simple MTO of all things, it makes you start to question where your loyalties lie. We don’t have the time to “give her time” anymore.
I will reply to this...We have the best GM EVER!! Not only does she walk the floor, but also engages with Associates and has the best Customer Service! I'm very sorry you have to experience working with someone you do not respect and does not come across as a very motivated Team "Mentor". There are hotlines you can call for information, however I suggest giving this GM a chance.... Again, its too bad you do not work in my store, or surrounding stores in my district, because we only have the most hard working General Manager and Assistant store manager EVER!! Have you ever opened in the am??? I did, last week...never appreciated them more!!! My suggestion to you is to give them some time...you have no idea the workload that comes from these individuals!! Focus on your own responsibilities and one day, your time will come!! They earned this position...not from pity....you too can achieve the same amazing position...just work hard, learn, and maybe have this GM mentor you on how to have your own store someday!!
