Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Leadership teams

How many locations have leadership teams that show no motivation and lack the qualities needed to inspire their employees? How many have proven to be uncaring, unmotivated, and have traits/characteristics better served outside of the retail industry? It’s like real-life hide and seek with my managers - difficult to find and always playing games.

Our SM is ok. ASM's need training. District team is pretty good with exception of the DM. He is flat out mean to store manager. Screams at him on the sales floor. He rules by fear. SM is about to leave - he has basically told us all.

Been with the same store for over 14 years and have NEVER had a worse management team than we have now. The few good ones we previously had took positions at other stores to escape the incompetence of my SM. SM hardly ever there unless the DM is coming in or a conference call is scheduled. How he is able to keep his job is beyond me. Previous SM lead by example and it was not at all uncommon to see him actually helping in departments or on an order picker slinging freight. Now we are CONSTANTLY short staffed in major departments (gotta maximize those management bonuses), and red-vests rapidly becoming an endangered species. Open FT/PT recs galore. Virtually everyone in my department is looking for other employment. No leadership team on planet earth can fix what we are going through unless they are empowered to fire our SM.

My store uses a threat based management system; do this or else. Many employees are looking or have left because of the threats.
