Thread regarding General Atomics layoffs

Can we relax a little?

Many say there will be no layoffs any time soon. If only I could know that for sure, so that I can finally have a little relief. This way I am constantly tense from anticipation of what will happen and I have paused some other important decisions. Do you also think that the cuts will not happen in the foreseeable future?

Wow! Seem like people can’t read very well. I believe the person wrote its contract base…. I have seen people throw parties when contracts get extended bc they can work to retirement. Most contracts are big but GA is suck a small contractor layoffs will be more common. But for the individual to say layoffs are common at defense contractors would be a flat out lie…. When a contract is over or cancelled layoffs will occur but if a contract is ongoing lazy people can stay at the company forever…. And if you don’t understand how the defense industry works just go to a bigger company for a better understanding

Wow, calling some d-mb because your hurt by facts just shows you have no clue on how it works in life! It’s very common to be laid off in the defense industry everything is dependent on contracts and if the military cancels the contract some get moved around most get laid off. The only safe job is working for yourself and if your truly d-mb enough to think your job is safe than lmao!!!

Defense contracting is not a cut throat business… layoffs are very rare depending on the contract you are on…. The answer below 👇🏿 is the d-mbest response I have ever seen! People stay in defense bc you never have to update your skills sets and can keep ones job!

The turnover rate at GA is very high. Also GA has slowed down hiring... also take into consideration that GA grossly underpays its employees.... the fact that you are so worried would entail you are a true GA employee that has no real skill set. No one else’s wants to hire you which makes your outdated skill set perfect for GA! You are the last person that GA wants to get rid of! So feel safe and keep living a stagnant life!
