Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Is there anyone not looking to get out?

I feel like every person I know that is still working for Altice (union and non-union) has been actively looking to get out. I can't really blame them, everyone is miserable. Things have gone from bad to worse and It didn't take very long to completely unravel this place.

I left last year after 20 years with no backup plan. Collected my severance and banked my unemployment and extra covid money. Took roughly 6 months to land something somewhat decent though I am still looking It's not cablevision anymore and your union will only protect you so much. Start looking.

The package is worth it last year received unemployment, severance and got a job. If you are in over 10 years wait for the package it is harder to fire someone than they make you believe. Hang in there

Every one is looking to leave with the exception of people who feel they have a chance or are frightened to start something new. There is absolutely nothing else to do here. Where will you go. Time is limited most of not all techs know this. My advice is to start looking ASAP for something else before you have nothing. The plan is in motion. VRP every year since Altice took over. And it’s that time of year again. Assuming July will be next excuse to get rid of more people!

I agree I am aware who was just let go He acted like he was Gods gift to cable. I too remember last year when he stated no more layoffs. Until the following week. He got what he deserved, now dump the rest of the useless management team as ll the way down to safety management. Who only cares when your missing something, even though you asked 5 times or more for supplies. And he to can’t deliver, wipe out a ll of them as they only look out for them selves, not if you go home safe at night, I hope you all feel great about collecting a paycheck when the rest of us are ki----g our selves, Be proud of yourself, especially when you put your head on the pillow at night . You’re time will come when you are cut loose. Suffer like every one of us,

What else would you expect When management tells you to take the package. There trying in a nice way to say to
Leave. There is no future here anymore men . My advice is to take the money and run As I was told. Unfortunately not much work out there currently. I can tell you from experience every thing will work out for you . Remember you guys are all talented in a trade. Don’t ever put your self down. You guys are the best . Another company will treat you like the way you should be treated. Good luck all

This place is emotionally draining I have been looking for work for 4 months.I do know my day is coming I love what I do but not the the constant fear of being laid off. I can’t take the anxiety anymore. It’s hard for me to concentrate and do this job. All I want to do is the right thing but management continues to cause grief for everyone I work with. They are nasty and uneducated about this job and stress that comes with it. I’m tired of the bullying and nonsense that comes with it. All I want to do is work and even for Altice that’s an issue. When I leave I’ll never look back. I am hearing rumors ( which is probably true) that very soon contractors are going to be taking our place. I see training going on and it’s contractors not me. Sad

It’s sad to see this post I witnessed last year around this time 20 year plus year employees take the package and leave. These were gentlemen I looked up to for help. I think total 40 plus guys left. They knew something I didn’t at the time. However I now see the writing on the wall. I work so hard every day, but nothing seems to matter. It’s extremely hard to work when you’re mind is racing. I now know what I worked for means nothing. I’m heartbroken over this. It’s clear now there is nothing to look forward to in terms of promotion or anything else. My search will begin tonight for something else. Good luck Gentlemen

Right now is a pretty raw time to be looking for other work. Lots of competition on the job market so companies are lowballing salaries pretty drastically.

I'm here till they kick me out. That package won't be too bad

Yes every one is looking to leave, there is not much time left Union or not. Your family depends on our checks. Every one should stop bashing each other and help each other out. Unfortunately there are not much work out there due to pandemic. We built the best customer service in the world, but it’s now ruined for corporate greed. This is extremely sad the way this went however you will survive , good luck every one. It’s now time to move forward. I wish all my fellow employees nothing but success and you will get there. Stay strong and keep your head up. It’s a done deal here.
